The ensemble “Capacity of Movement” consists of eight musicians who reflect on the possibilities of movement in dense and structured space. In doing so, they not only portray mechanisms of acceleration and deceleration, which are becoming increasingly important in the modern world, but also create a productive approach to these mechanisms of movement. We view movement not only as a rhythmic concept, but also as a concept of freedom. Within the ensemble, questions about the equality of individual voices and their possibilities for movement are raised and renegotiated.
Furthermore, we see process as fundamental to our artistic practice. The work on stage is not phased but always synchronized with the process. We criticize the marketing concept of wanting to sell a “finished” product. We want to sell our work, our process.
